Description
This book is about the horrible things that a young Harlem boy witnesses while growing up in the ghetto. Day after day, he lives through the nightmare of drugs and violence in the streets of the city. His only true friend was his mother, who was an alcoholic.
The book explores his life in South Carolina after his mother’s tragic death. He was twelve years old when she died. His teen years in South Carolina was a life of continued poverty and more violence. However, violence in South Carolina was totally different than in Harlem. After High School, the military was where he first experienced street drugs. Then the real nightmare began.
