Description
THIS MEMOIR NARRATES THE STORIES OF ONE WOMAN’S LIFE AND SHOWS WHERE GOD’S HAND MANIFESTED ITSELF IN HER UNIQUE EXPERIENCES AS A PREACHER’S DAUGHTER.
For Rebecca Nordlander, her family members were just ordinary people living ordinary lives in a Baptist preacher’s home. In Glimpses of Home she shares a variety of her experiences and shows how God’s grace played an integral role throughout her upbringing.
The second of five children, Nordlander narrates stories about growing up in a loving family that moved several times as her father accepted pastorates or began church work in a needy town-providing insight into military, city, and farm life. Glimpses of Home shares tales of being attacked by a girl wielding a broken soda bottle, of facing a flashflood and being swept down river, and of fighting off an angry stallion with a handful of apples.
Glimpses of Home combines Nordlander’s life journey and childhood anecdotes with the unique combination of insightful spiritual applications and scripture passages.
“Beyond her servant’s heart, the thing I admire most about Rebecca is her love for the Lord and her family. I think the many years of wisdom are spelled out in this book that would be beneficial for any leader or layman to benefit from. Read it and learn from someone who has done life right with Christ at the center and a desire to please the Lord.” Senior Pastor Paul Monroe, Capital City Baptist Church, Columbia, South Carolina
