I am fascinated by this wonderfully-inspired book by Dr. Saleem Hylton as he made the spiritual journey and transformation into one of the great community activists, motivational speakers and inspirational leaders of our times. I accept his challenge to use the same metaphysical principles to transform my own life to one of higher consciousness and active work to make the communities in which we live more prosperous, healthy, and sustainable.

As human beings, we have both macro and micro factors that influence our lives. In addition, there is constant interplay between the two factors. My colleague and friend, Saleem Hylton, gives us a perfect example of both through his journey. In the field in which we work, we deal with the economic, political and social issues in the pursuit of justice, Saleem’s journey includes the input of spirituality into this pursuit. The bottom line for me is his explanation of spirituality and its impact on him throughout his journey. This analysis allows me to understand how spirituality keeps me sane through my own journey.
